All it took was me believing that it was possible!!!
I was a single mom at 21, which was not how I planned on living my 20’s. I learned a lot in the 2 years I spent single, I learned how to provide for myself and my daughter (with massive amounts of help from my family). I learned that with ALOT of determination and very little money anything is still possible. I didn’t really believe in love, I fell in love quickly several times only to get my heart broken. So when I met Rob through my sister and her fiance, I was VERY cautious, to say I had one foot in and one foot out in the beginning was an understatement.
I honestly never even thought about what a pilots life was like. I never thought to marry someone because of their career or not marry them because of it. The first years together were amazing but crazy, being with someone who travels helped me keep my independence while having all the amazing benefits of a partner in crime. I can’t say I love that he is gone for more than 50% of our life but it has it’s benefits and major DRAWBACKS. Not being able to answer questions like “Where is your husband today?”, “What time will he be home?”, “How do you deal with him missing holidays?”……and so many more is definitely rough. I know there are so many other women who deal with the missed holidays, and the days without phone calls but the days together make it so worth it.
My fitness journey started when I realized that I was so unhappy with myself and my body that I was letting the depression, that I already dealing with, take over my life. It was ruining my relationship with my husband, my family and my friends. I was the only one who could make it stop.
Then I saw my sister and she was getting great results by using T25 and it had only been a few weeks. I decided that I was going to give it a shot. I had never been successful or followed through with any other diet or going to the gym so I was super scared to fail. I had to take baby steps, so I started by just doing the workouts without changing my diet. (I strongly believe baby steps is what helped me succeed). Who knew that committing to 25 minutes a day to take care of myself would have a ripple effect? Not only was I losing inches but I had more energy, I was happier and I felt like everything in my life was just falling into place.
When I completed the entire program and I felt like a total Badass!!! I had so much more confidence, I was stronger and my muffin top was GONE!!! I was on fire and there was no stopping me. I set new goals, ordered my next program and decided it was time for me to help other women like me find their confidence again.
About a year ago I was diagnosed with hashimoto’s and it saved me. The workouts and nutrition had made me so much stronger physically and mentally but I was still dealing with depression and anxiet and I had no idea why. I was ruining relationships and beating myself up, when I found my amazing Dr. (Dr. Baxter) who ran all kinds of tests and taught me about the disease and showed me how to help myself through nutrition and supplements. I truly believe things happen for a reason and I went through those horrible days so I can help more people get healthy and fuel their souls by fueling their bodies with the proper nutrition and making fitness a part of their lifestyle.
