Working out is hard but so is being overweight so choose your hard.
Almost 3 years ago when I started my fitness journey I was so lazy (shit I’m still lazy) but I knew if I put in a little effort I could feel a lot better about myself and with minimal effort it happened. So here’s 5 easy(ish) steps to drop those lbs.
1. Share meals or box up half your portion immediately at the restaurant.
One of the major game changers for me was not changing what I ate but how much I ate. When my husband and I would go out to eat we would still get our normal faves only we would share them. I don’t know about you but when there is food in front of me I will eat it even if I’m not hungry. A whole serving of French fries haunts me from the plate and if it’s there I just can’t stop. So if we couldn’t decide on something to share I would ask for a box immediately so I could put half in there and not be tempted. Trust me with the serving sizes these restaurants give out now half is more than enough.
2. Find a workout that is quick and won’t waste all your time.
When I started I used T25 because I knew I could fit 25 minutes of workouts in at least 5 days a week. I also knew that sleep was a very very precious thing in my life so taking time away to drive to the gym wasn’t an option. I’ve also had friends who have treadmills or stationary bikes and use them while they watch TV because hello watching Netflix definitely makes time fly. If you need help contact me today and I will help you find something that works!!
3. Throw out all the JUNK food!
I know you probably hate my now but that junk food=junk in the trunk and we are trying to get rid of that shit. Take all that bad for you food like chips, candy and those high calorie snacks and throw them in the trash. Once the temptation is not readily available you will have to think twice about going out to get it and won’t easily eat it. I guarantee it helps, when there’s junk in my house I’m A LOT more tempted to eat it.
4. Plan and prep for the week.
While this can be a boring and tedious task it seriously saves the day and helps you from being tempted, plus it saves time and you only have to clean up once instead of a few times every single day. There are so many meal plans out there that provide whole grocery lists like this no cook one. Or the gluten free one that I created where you can make lots of choices. You can search meal plans across the internet, search: meal prep monday beachbody or my fave is Pinterest there are tons or you can do what I do plan dinners and breakfast for the week and have leftovers for lunch.
5. Choose water over soda and alcohol
Hydration is key when it comes to weightloss and while it’s ok to have to occasional alcoholic beverage drinking them every single night or even on a regular basis causes bloat and is just empty calories. Then there is soda and it’s so filled with sugar and even the diet ones aren’t healthy. If I’m looking for something sweetness and fizz I’ll grab a kombucha or a tea with some honey. I do treat myself to a weekly latte as a reward for all my hard work. So drink half your body weight in water daily and if you need to add some fruit to make it a little tastier without the calories!!!
So in the end losing weight will never be completely easy but even if you incorporate a few of these in your daily life it will make a HUGE difference!!
